Susan Sanders is a professional artist who uses many media in her work.
Photography is a fundamental part of her research to seek and record an edge of visual tension. Her landscape paintings and photographs, either abstract or representational, are informed by the elements of lines, light and depth.
Susan’s commissioned work includes paintings for business and private clients. She does summer workshops in primary schools, supports the local community with art-based projects and also teaches adult classes.
Her Hertfordshire studio is in a rural area and the changing colours of agricultural seasons are incorporated into many of her oil paintings.
She has exhibited in London, Manchester, Cambridge and Hay-on-Wye and also takes part annually in the Hertfordshire Visual Arts Forum Open Studios.
Susan’s very large striped tabby cat is a model who, for some years now, has persuaded her to sell cards with reproduced charcoal drawings of himself to successfully support his cat food supplies
